Priority Group 6 Update

We are now working through priority group 6 which is anyone aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality, and unpaid carers.

This is different to clinically extremely vulnerable- these people are likely to have been shielding throughout Covid and will have already been invited for their vaccination.

Approximately 10% of people within the Valleys will fall within the priority group 6 category. It is important to remember that not everyone who is usually invited for the annual flu vaccination will be in priority group 6.

Those eligible are;

All GP surgeries continue to be busy responding to urgent health needs and vaccinating so please try not to call regarding queries over when you will receive your vaccine. If you think you need to update your practice about your eligibility for a vaccination you can write to them or complete an e-consult (the link for which can be found on your GP practice website)

If you are a carer but not sure if you are recognised as one by your GP you can also register for the vaccine by contacting Carers Count on 0300 012 0231 on Monday to Friday, 9:30am-2:30pm, or by email at: .

Your GP surgery will be in touch via text or phone as soon as they are able to book you an appointment at Holme Valley Memorial Hospital. You also have the choice to book your vaccination at other sites such as Honley Village Hall or Huddersfield Football Stadium if you are aged over 60 years at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/
